About Morocco

Is Morocco a Safe country?

In truth, Morocco is a safe place to visit, the country is super safe for tourists now. Also, it’s is a peaceful country, but caution is required in all matters.

Do I need to speak Arabic or Berber in order to visit Morocco?

No! you don’t need it, at Sahara desert excursions we offer basic and professional guides who speak your language fluently as possible.

Do I need a visa to enter Morocco?

A passport that is valid for a minimum of three months beyond your stay will be required. Visas are the responsibility of the individual traveler, however, approximately 70 countries are visa-free for traveling to Morocco for a duration of up to 90 days. Consult your local embassy for current information.

How much money should I bring with me?

We get this question a lot, and it really does depend on your spending habits. You can make larger purchases using a MasterCard or Visa (American Express and Discover are not accepted as much), but small purchases will likely be made with cash. You might consider bringing $100-200 in case you have trouble finding an ATM that will accept your card when you first arrive. Also, having small bills (in your currency) to tip a taxi driver or bellman upon your arrival might be helpful.

Where to find the ATM machines?

Use ATM machines at the airport and in metropolitan areas and medinas, but they are rare in rural areas. When traveling outside of the cities be prepared to have enough cash, as ATM machines are not always an option. During our Morocco Trips, always consult your driver to take you to the ATM machines in each area.

Should I buy travel insurance before I travel?

Travel agents are legally required to provide basic travel insurance within your travel package we certainly ensure this in our packages. However we still strongly advise you to purchase a full travel insurance package from your home country that suits the type of activities you are anticipating doing as well as covering medical and repatriation expenses.

Can solo women Travel to Morocco?

In Morocco, women traveling alone is generally safe, but there is a thing to bear in mind; dress conservatively and specifically means cover shoulders, stomach, and keens and avoid fitting clothes, there is no need to cover your head, try to use your common sense for example when dealing with men avoid overdoing eye contact with unknown men probably as Western women would be easier to wear sunglasses than to lower the eyes. It’s considered safe for pregnant, however, there are certain things you should take into account when traveling. – Don’t forget that you should see your doctor who can help if the risks of the trip are ok to take and for medical advice before heading off for a trip overseas. You should completely avoid certain activities while pregnant, for example, Camel, Horses and ATV riding, and Jet Skis. – Its highlight recommended taking breaks every two hours while traveling by car for walking around.

What different types of hotels are there in hotels in Morocco?

Accommodations for travelers in Morocco fall across a broad range—everything from world-class luxury to simple hostel accommodations are available. The nicest hotels compare well with luxury hotels anywhere, coming from international hotel chains like Movenpick, Hilton, Four Seasons, and Sofitel. A step down from these is a variety of local hotels that ranges from luxurious to simple. Moroccan hotels have their own rating system that loosely classifies them on a 5-star scale; however, this scale is different from international standards used elsewhere.
